TC 4.4 Committee met during the Paris meeting in May 2013. The committee is continuing work on the use of natural materials which are locally available at the site of the road project and categorized as unacceptable in their existing conditions to comply with technical specifications for earthworks. As part of this, the committee has sent out a survey on the Optimal Use of Local Materials in Earthworks. Silas Nichols is currently providing the input from his knowledge of U.S. practice in this area.
